We are Provision of Promise Church—where faith is activated, lives are changed, and God’s promises are fulfilled!

WE ARE P.O.P.

The Birth of a Prophetic Vision

Provision of Promise Inc. has its roots in The Provision of Promise Church, Jackson, which was birthed out of necessity and prophetic fulfillment. A deep hunger for the manifestation of God's Word, a longing to witness miracles, signs, and wonders, and a divine call to establish a ministry unrestricted by denominational doctrine set the foundation for what God was about to build. This was not the work of man but a heavenly assignment, strategically set in motion to impact lives and shift the spiritual climate of Jackson, Mississippi.

In late November 2016, through much discussion, prayer, and divine leading, Rev. E.L. Rhodes and Minister Ardis Taylor, along with His Eminence, Bishop J. Andre Taylor, founder and pastor of The Provision of Promise Church, New York, received a clear prophetic mandate to cultivate and develop a Mississippi location. This was not just an idea or a church expansion—this was a divine commission, a prophetic birthing, and the establishment of an apostolic work.

Rev. E.L. Rhodes and Minister Ardis Taylor stand as key architects of this great movement, playing instrumental roles in conceiving, developing, and laboring to bring forth what would have been known as New Provision Ministries. Their dedication, diligence, and commitment to the work of the Lord helped pioneer a ministry that would grow beyond its humble beginnings into a thriving, Spirit-led church. They did not seek personal recognition or human glory, but they positioned themselves as vessels through which God could establish His vision.

Their faith, sacrifice, and relentless pursuit of God’s purpose became the cornerstones of what Provision of Promise would become. Their work was not about a denomination or an organization, but about ushering in a move of God that would transcend tradition and awaken the city to the power of the Holy Ghost. What began as an obedient response to God’s call has now become a prophetic beacon of hope, a place where lives are changed, and the Kingdom is advanced. This was the Lord’s doing, and it was marvelous in our eyes (Psalm 118:23).

The Road To Launch

The vision for The Provision of Promise Church, Jackson was set in motion, not by human ambition, but by divine instruction. With only 57 days before the official launch, there was no building, no financial support, and no formal structure—just faith, prayer, and a prophetic mandate from God.

One of the most pivotal moments in this season was the first prayer gathering, held at the home of Mother Maudine Taylor, the great-grandmother of Pastor Kevin K. G. Jones, Sr. At 95 years old, Mother Taylor was a pillar of wisdom, a spiritual matriarch, and a living testimony of God’s sustaining power.

Her home became a sacred meeting place, where prayers were released, strategies were discussed, and divine direction was sought. She imparted wisdom, instruction, and guidance, reminding the young leaders that every great work of God must first be built on prayer. Her words were simple but profound:

"Start in obedience, and let God handle the rest."

That night, prayers were made, the vision was sealed in the spirit, and the foundation of the ministry was established in faith.

50 Days Before Launch – Evangelism Begins

With the spiritual groundwork set, it was time to take the message to the people. Street evangelism became the heartbeat of this movement.

Armed with flyers, bold faith, and the fire of the Holy Ghost, teams went into neighborhoods, shopping centers, bus stations, and street corners, proclaiming that God was raising up a church where His presence would dwell without restriction. Luke 14:23 became our marching orders: “Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled." The response was immediate—people were hungry for something real, and interest in the church began to grow. But while souls were being stirred, one major challenge remained—there was still no place to hold the first service.

40 Days Before Launch – The Search for a Location

As the launch date approached, securing a venue became the next major hurdle. Calls were made to churches, event halls, and meeting spaces, but rejection after rejection followed. Many refused to rent to us because we were not part of their reformation, while others simply saw us as too new, too small, or too uncertain. Despite these setbacks, our faith did not waver. We held fast to Isaiah 22:22: "And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open." If God had given the vision, He would also provide the provision.

30 Days Before Launch – A Divine Open Door

After weeks of denied applications and unanswered calls, God made a way. The Regency Hotel in Jackson, Mississippi, agreed to rent out their ballroom for our very first service. The breakthrough was a reminder that no obstacle is too great when God is in control. The location was secured, but now the real work had to begin.

20 Days Before Launch – Preparation & Strategy

With the venue locked in, it was time to finalize every detail. Volunteers were organized, worship leaders were gathered, and every aspect of the launch service was prayed over. Mother Maudine Taylor continued to pour wisdom into the leadership, reminding them that organization is good, but reliance on the Holy Spirit is better. The preparation was not just for an event—it was for a move of God.

10 Days Before Launch – A Final Prayer Gathering

Exactly 10 days before the launch, we gathered again at Mother Taylor’s home for one final prayer of consecration. This was not just a routine meeting—it was a prophetic moment, a commissioning, and a declaration that this was the Lord’s doing. Prayers were released over the people who would attend, the Word that would go forth, and the souls that would be saved.  Something shifted in the spirit that night—we knew we were stepping into something greater than we had imagined.

Launch Day – January 1, 2017

The atmosphere was charged with expectation. The first official service of The Provision of Promise Church, Jackson, had arrived. From the moment the doors opened at the Regency Hotel Ballroom, the presence of God was tangible. The Word of God went forth in power, and worship filled the room. What started as a small gathering of faith-filled believers had now become a movement. By the conclusion of that first service, Provision of Promise Church, Jackson, welcomed its first 10 members—the first souls who would become the foundation of what God was building.

Looking Back – A Legacy of Faith

From Mother Maudine Taylor’s living room to the Regency Hotel Ballroom, the road to launch was paved with prayer, perseverance, and prophetic accuracy. No building, no finances, no blueprint—just faith. And faith was enough. Every closed door, every moment of uncertainty, and every challenge we faced only proved that this ministry was not built by human hands—it was built by God. What began as a prayer meeting at a 95-year-old woman’s home had now become a church, a movement, and place of hope for the city of Jackson.

A Pastor By Divine Appointment

The journey to leadership is often shaped by preparation, testing, and the undeniable hand of God. For Pastor-Elect Kevin K. G. Jones, Sr., his path to becoming the Pastor of The Provision of Promise Church, Jackson, was not one paved by election, popularity, or human vote, but by divine appointment and prophetic fulfillment.

Having 17 years of faithful stewardship under phenomenal leadership, Pastor-Elect Jones was not a novice, nor was he unprepared. He had been trained, tested, and proven in the trenches of foundational church work, serving in multiple capacities that strengthened his spiritual discipline, deepened his biblical understanding, and equipped him with the leadership qualities necessary for shepherding God's people.

His ministry journey was not rushed, nor was it sought for personal gain. Like David, who was anointed long before he ascended the throne (1 Samuel 16:12-13), Overseer Jones waited patiently on the timing of God. He did not campaign for position, nor seek approval from men, but rather allowed his works, faithfulness, and service to speak for him.

When the time came for a leader to be established in Jackson, it was evident that the mantle had already been resting upon him. His commitment to prayer, teaching, outreach, and Kingdom expansion made it clear—he was chosen by God for such a time as this. This was not a moment of ambition—it was a divine transition, orchestrated by God Himself.

On February 4, 2017, without contest but solely through prophetic alignment, Pastor Kevin K. G. Jones, Sr. was officially installed as the Pastor of The Provision of Promise Church, Jackson. From the very beginning, he did not step into leadership—he stepped into assignment. This appointment was not about authority—it was about responsibility.

As a visionary leader and prophetic voice, he immediately activated the church for growth, built ministries that would edify the Body, and established a foundation for longevity. His pastoral heart was evident not just in preaching, but in the way he served, mentored, and discipled those under his care.

Much like Moses, who was called to lead without the approval of men (Exodus 3:10-12), Overseer Jones was called to establish, build, and lead with divine accuracy. His appointment was a testimony to the scripture:

"And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding." (Jeremiah 3:15)

From the moment he stepped into this assignment, the hand of God has been evident in Provision of Promise Church, Jackson. What was once a prophetic word has become a thriving, Spirit-filled reality—because the leader was not chosen by men, but appointed by God.

We Have Found Favor!

Shortly after, God made another way. We transitioned to the Jackson Metro Mall via the Awakened Academy. For six months, under the favor of Dr. Buckley, we established our ministry. It was in this season that the church truly began to take form, introducing foundational ministries such as When Women Worship (Women’s Ministry), Midweek Bible Study, Intercessory Prayer, Ecclesia Training Classes, and Evangelism Outreach.

In June 2017, the ministry took a leap of faith and secured its first leased space, a small storefront location just large enough for its growing congregation. It was here that community outreach, tent revivals, and disaster relief efforts became a defining part of the church’s mission. The ministry thrived, serving the needs of Jackson and surrounding areas, while continuing to grow spiritually and numerically.

In June 2018, during a revival service, our Pastor, gave The Provision of Promise Church, Jackson a prophetic word, declaring that Keys, Titles, and Deeds would be placed into our hands. Just seven days later, in July 2018, that prophecy was fulfilled as The Provision of Promise Church, Jackson, transitioned to 120 Cedar Lane, Jackson, MS.

For the next year, the ministry experienced growth and expansion as it continued to serve the community. God had planted a church in Jackson, Mississippi, and it was flourishing.

The Elevation

of

Pastor Kevin K. G. Jones, Sr.

By September 2018, the hand of God was evident upon The Provision of Promise Church, Jackson. Under the leadership of Chief Ruling Elder Kevin K. G. Jones, Sr., the church had not only grown in membership but had developed into a thriving, well-structured ministry. The foundational principles of salvation, deliverance, restoration, and healing were being carried out effectively, and the various ministries within the church were operating in excellence and divine order.

Recognizing his faithfulness, apostolic mantle, and prophetic accuracy, Pastor Kevin K. G. Jones, Sr. Chief Ruling Elder of The Provision of Promise Churches was officially elevated to the office of Overseer during The Provision of Promise Churches' Annual Conclave. This was not merely a promotion—it was a divine affirmation of the work already in motion. As Chief Ruling Elder, he had already been governing, strengthening, and expanding the church's reach, but this elevation signified a greater responsibility, a higher calling, and a new level of apostolic authority.

The first-ever Conclave was a historic moment for the church. During this gathering, Provision of Promise Church, Jackson, presented 13 qualified candidates for ordination and consecration—men and women who had successfully completed Ecclesia Training Classes and Catechism, demonstrating their commitment to doctrine, spiritual discipline, and ministry preparation. These candidates, ranging from Missionaries to Elders, stood as evidence of the church’s growth, development, and dedication to properly equipping leaders for Kingdom work.

The ministry had flourished, and God's favor was evident. The first Conclave marked a shift—from being just a local church to an established apostolic house with leaders being trained and commissioned for greater Kingdom assignments. The success of this gathering proved one thing beyond doubt:

"If God be for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31)

The church was growing, thriving, and moving in divine acceleration. The elevation of Overseer Kevin K. G. Jones, Sr. was not just a title—it was a confirmation of the prophetic call upon his life to govern, build, and lead the church into its next dimension.

Elder Ellis Donell Thomas

Every ministry has those who stand as unshakable pillars, men and women who help lay the foundation of the church, ensuring that its structure is not only built upon brick and mortar, but upon faith, service, and unwavering commitment to God’s work. Elder Ellis Donell Thomas was one of those foundational men. He was more than a member—he was a builder, a warrior, a leader, and a man whose impact could not be measured in words alone.

From the very inception of Provision of Promise, Jackson, Elder Thomas was a faithful founding member whose presence was marked by dedication, wisdom, and an unyielding work ethic. He was a true servant-leader, never seeking the spotlight but always making sure the work of the Lord was carried out with excellence and order. If something needed to be done, he was there. If a task needed to be completed, he ensured it happened. If there was a burden to be carried, he lifted it without hesitation.

Beyond his service, Elder Thomas was a spiritual anchor. His wisdom and guidance were often sought after by those who needed direction, and his ability to speak truth in love was a gift to the church. His prayers were powerful, his counsel was sound, and his leadership was a steady force within the ministry. He was a man of integrity, a man of honor, and a man of great faith.

Though many knew him as an Elder, he was also a protector of the ministry. He carried the weight of accountability and stewardship, ensuring that the church remained a place of order, excellence, and divine presence. His commitment to the leadership, the members, and the vision of Provision of Promise was undeniable.

On February 18, 2019, Elder Thomas completed his earthly assignment and transitioned into eternal rest. His passing was the first major loss in the history of the church, and it was deeply felt throughout the ministry. The church was not just grieving a leader—we were grieving a father figure, a mentor, and a friend.

His absence was undeniable, yet his legacy remains deeply woven into the very fabric of Provision of Promise. His work continues, his prayers still echo, and his impact can never be erased. As long as this ministry stands, Elder Ellis Donell Thomas' name will be honored and remembered.

We find strength in the promise of 2 Timothy 4:7-8:
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day."

Though we mourned, we did not lose hope. We knew that Elder Thomas had only changed locations, moving from earthly labor to heavenly reward. He now rests, knowing that the church he helped build is still standing, still thriving, and still declaring the name of the Lord.

Rest well, Elder Ellis Donell Thomas—your work lives on.

A New Identity – The Birth of Provision of Promise Inc.

Just a few months after Elder Thomas' passing, in July 2019, Provision of Promise Church, Jackson, found itself at a crossroads. What had once been a shared vision under a covenant partnership had now come to a place where change was necessary. The road to transformation is rarely smooth, and while there were moments of tension and uncertainty, the hand of God was at work behind the scenes, orchestrating something greater than what was initially imagined.

Through much prayer, fasting, and divine counsel, Overseer Kevin K. G. Jones, Sr. was led by the Holy Spirit to transition away from the covenant partnership with Bishop J. Andre Taylor and The Provision of Promise Church of Christ. This was not a decision made lightly, nor was it one rooted in division—it was a divine shift, a re-alignment to ensure that the vision God had given for Jackson could flourish without restriction.

Anytime God calls for separation, it is not for destruction but for greater manifestation. Much like Abraham and Lot parting ways (Genesis 13:8-9), this transition was not about opposition, but about stepping fully into God’s ordained path. However, stepping into that new path meant walking into the unknown. The name, the structure, and even the foundation that had been laid were no longer accessible. The church was left with a congregation but no official identity, a people with a vision but no established framework. Yet, just as God spoke to the prophet Isaiah, saying:

"Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert." (Isaiah 43:19)

What looked like a setback was actually a divine setup for something greater.

On July 9, 2019, Overseer Kevin K. G. Jones, Sr. officially founded and incorporated Provision of Promise Inc. This was not merely a name change—it was a rebirth, a prophetic reestablishment, and a fresh start ordained by God. This move was not just about legality and structure, but about ensuring that the church would have a firm foundation, one that was unshakable, independent, and capable of standing the test of time.

Under Overseer Jones' leadership and the Board of Directors, the church swiftly and efficiently began laying the groundwork for its future. Legal documentation was secured, Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws were established, and a new identity emerged—not from struggle, but through perseverance. What was intended to be a stumbling block became a stepping stone, proving that God’s Word over this ministry was undeniable.

The birth of Provision of Promise Inc. was a testament to the power of endurance, faith, and divine timing. Like Joseph, who endured betrayal before being positioned in the palace (Genesis 50:20), the ministry had gone through a season of testing, only to emerge stronger, wiser, and more prepared than ever before.

What was once a church finding its footing became an established movement, one that was no longer dependent on external covering, but fully operating in the divine order God had predestined. Provision of Promise Inc. was no longer just a church—it had become a prophetic beacon of hope, a place of restoration, and a Kingdom entity set apart for greater works.

This transition was never about division, but about destiny. Out of what seemed to be difficulty came undeniable success. Out of struggle came stability. Out of uncertainty came clarity. And out of what could have been loss, God ushered in legacy.

Through it all, the ministry never wavered. The church continued to thrive, and the vision that began with nothing but faith had now become an unshakable reality.

"For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry." (Habakkuk 2:3)

Provision of Promise Inc. was not just created—it was called, cultivated, and confirmed by God Himself.

Covid-19: A Test of Endurance

In 2020, the world was shaken by the COVID-19 pandemic, a crisis that tested the endurance, faith, and resilience of churches worldwide. Provision of Promise Inc. was not exempt from the trials it brought. As cities locked down, businesses closed, and fear gripped the world, many churches faced the reality of dwindling attendance, financial hardships, and even permanent closures. Yet, in the midst of this global uncertainty, the prophetic foundation of Provision of Promise stood firm.

From the onset of the pandemic, our leadership remained steadfast in prayer and divine instruction. Overseer Kevin K. G. Jones, Sr. led the church through one of the most trying times in modern history, relying not on government solutions or human wisdom, but on the power of God's Word.

As COVID-19 devastated communities and took millions of lives, we were sustained by Psalm 91:7:
"A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee."

By the covering and divine protection of God, not a single member of Provision of Promise was lost to COVID-19. We witnessed miracles—those who were affected by the virus were restored to health, and families who experienced economic setbacks were provided for. The church became a place of refuge, offering assistance to those in need, ensuring that no one went without food, shelter, or support.

Despite the challenges, we refused to close our doors indefinitely. Following safety protocols set by the CDC and state government, we adjusted our services to maintain in-person worship while ensuring the safety of our members. We understood that the church is more than a building—it is the body of Christ, and it must remain active in times of crisis.

As a prophetic ministry, we did not just survive the pandemic—we emerged stronger. Though we had to relocate from our Cedar Lane facility to adjust to the financial and logistical changes brought by COVID-19, our faith never wavered. We saw God's hand guide us through the storm, and what seemed like a season of loss became a setup for greater expansion.

Provision of Promise Inc. did not merely endure COVID-19—we conquered it. The pandemic became a testimony of God’s faithfulness and a reminder that our foundation is not built on the systems of this world, but on the unshakable Word of God.

Today, as we continue to rebuild and advance, we stand as living proof that no weapon formed against us shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). What the enemy meant for evil, God turned for our good (Genesis 50:20). We are still standing, still growing, and still moving forward—stronger than ever.

In Loving Memory of

National Mother Sandra Harris

Memorial card for Sandra Harris with photo, birth and death dates, public viewing and celebration of life details over a cloud background with doves.

In every church, there are individuals whose impact transcends position and title—individuals whose service, love, and dedication become the very heartbeat of the ministry. National Mother Sandra Harris was one of those pillars, a faithful founding member, a true servant of the Kingdom, and a woman whose presence was felt, cherished, and deeply valued.

From the very beginning, Mother Harris was not just a member—she was a foundation builder. She served as the very first Hospitality President of Provision of Promise, ensuring that every guest, leader, and member felt welcomed and loved. It was her passion to make sure the house of God reflected excellence and care, and she carried out this role with an unmatched level of grace and commitment.

She was also the founder of the Pastor’s Aid Ministry, a position she did not just hold in title but in action. Her love for Overseer Kevin K. G. Jones, Sr. and the leadership of the church was evident not just in words, but in the way she served, supported, and covered her pastor with prayers and unwavering encouragement. She understood the weight of leadership and made it her mission to ensure that her pastor lacked for nothing, embodying the scripture:

"Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially they who labor in the word and doctrine." (1 Timothy 5:17)

Beyond her leadership, Mother Harris was an anointed and gifted cook—she could cook something terrible, too! If there was food in the church, you could guarantee it was going to be seasoned right, prepared with love, and served with joy. Her ability to turn a meal into a ministry moment was a blessing to the entire church. Through her cooking, she did more than feed people—she nurtured souls, bringing comfort, joy, and a sense of family to the house of God.

Her love for people and her spirit of hospitality were unmatched. She was always ready to serve, always ready to encourage, and always ready to bring joy. Her laughter filled the room, her presence made people feel at home, and her wisdom made even the most difficult days easier to endure. She was a true blessing indeed, not just to the church but to everyone who had the honor of knowing her.

On April 21, 2024, Mother Harris transitioned from labor to reward, leaving behind a legacy that will never be forgotten. Though her passing left a void that can never be filled, we take comfort in knowing that her work on earth was completed, and her reward in heaven is great.

We stand on the promise of Revelation 14:13:
"And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them."

Though she is no longer physically present, her spirit remains. Her dedication, her faithfulness, and her love will continue to inspire and shape Provision of Promise for generations to come. We honor her, we celebrate her, and we thank God for the gift that she was to this ministry.

Rest well, National Mother Sandra Harris—your legacy will live on.

A Church Destined for Glory

The history of Provision of Promise Inc. is a testament to God’s faithfulness, divine orchestration, and unwavering grace. What began as a prophetic word, spoken in faith, has become a thriving ministry—rooted in prayer, built through perseverance, and sustained by the hand of God.

This church was not established through human ambition but by divine appointment. Every challenge we have faced has only strengthened our foundation, proving that if God calls a work, He will also sustain it. We have weathered transitions, walked through seasons of uncertainty, and stood firm in the face of trials, yet we have never wavered in our mission. From humble beginnings in a hotel ballroom to securing permanent spaces, from street evangelism to community outreach, from leadership development to prophetic impartation, Provision of Promise Inc. has remained steadfast in its assignment to impact lives for the Kingdom.

The journey has not been without loss. We honor the legacy of Elder Ellis Donell Thomas and National Mother Sandra Harris, whose dedication and service were instrumental in shaping this ministry. Their labor was not in vain, and their contributions continue to bear fruit in the lives of those they touched. Their spirits remain with us as we press forward, standing on the promises of God.

Through every season—growth, transition, and even uncertainty—one thing has remained constant: God’s word concerning this house has never failed. We are not just a church that has survived; we are a church that has flourished. We stand today as a testimony of endurance, obedience, and unwavering faith.

The work is not done. The vision is still unfolding. The next chapter is yet to be written. Provision of Promise Inc. was never just about a single moment in time—it is a movement, a calling, a Kingdom mandate that will continue to evolve and expand according to God’s plan.

As we move forward, we do so with expectation, faith, and a renewed commitment to the call. The same God who carried us through the beginning is the same God who will lead us into the future. The foundation has been laid, the work continues, and the best is still yet to come.

This is not the end of our history—it is only the beginning.
