A Humble Start

Overseer Kevin Keon Garrod Jones, Sr. was born on November 7, 1984, in Jackson, Mississippi. Just a year later, his family relocated to Long Island, New York, where his spiritual foundation was established.

His journey with Christ began early. In 1992, at 7 years old, he surrendered his life to Christ at the Gospel Blessing Center (GBC) under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Melvin C. Walker. A single sermon, a divine word spoken in due season, resonated so deeply within his heart that it marked the beginning of his personal walk with God. That moment of surrender ignited a lifelong passion for the Gospel and set the course for his spiritual journey. GBC was more than just a church; it was a living example of faith in action. There, he witnessed the transformative power of outreach ministry, disaster relief efforts, food distribution, and tent revivals. He saw firsthand how the church did not merely preach the Gospel but lived it, reaching out to the broken, feeding the hungry, and providing hope in times of crisis. These experiences embedded within him the understanding that ministry extends beyond the pulpit—it is a calling to serve.

Growth & Development

His spiritual growth accelerated during his teenage years. In 1998, at 14 years old, he joined End Time Ministries, Inc. in Roosevelt, NY, under the leadership of Bishop Al T. Henry, Sr.. This was a defining period in his life, as he dedicated himself to ministry training and deeper discipleship. By 1999, at 15 years old, he experienced a supernatural encounter that forever changed him—he received the Holy Ghost, an experience that solidified his calling and set him apart for the work ahead. This was not just an emotional moment but an undeniable impartation of power, equipping him for the road ahead. Under Bishop Henry’s guidance, he learned the importance of discipline, integrity, and submission to spiritual authority.

His unwavering commitment to ministry led him to serve in various capacities within the church. Progressing from Junior Deacon to Deacon, then to Exhorter, and later to Minister, he embraced every role with humility and a heart of service. Each position strengthened his foundation, teaching him the weight of responsibility, the power of servant leadership, and the importance of unwavering faith.

Preparation

In 2007, at 22 years old, he felt the call of God leading him back to his native home of Jackson, Mississippi, to seek his divine destiny. His journey of service continued under the mentorship of Pastor Arthur Sutton at Progressive M.B. Church from 2007 to 2012, where he continued to refine his ministerial gifts. In 2012, at 27 years old, he transitioned to Powerhouse C.O.G.I.C. under Pastor Anthony Friday, where he served faithfully until 2017. This decade of dedication was a time of deep spiritual growth, where he labored in evangelism, community outreach, and church development. His understanding of ministry expanded as he engaged in organizing tent revivals, leading street ministry efforts, and being an active presence in disaster relief and food distribution programs. These experiences reinforced the call on his life and prepared him for the next season of his journey.

The Vision

After much prayer and seeking divine direction, on January 1, 2017, at 32 years old, Overseer Jones took a bold step of faith, joining in unification with The Provision of Promise Church of Christ in Coram, NY, under the leadership of Bishop J. Andre Taylor. This covenant relationship led to his official installation as Pastor of Provision of Promise Church of Christ, Jackson, MS, on February 4, 2017. From the moment he assumed leadership, he devoted himself to evangelism, outreach, and community transformation. He worked tirelessly to grow the church, ensuring that it remained a pillar of faith, hope, and restoration in the Jackson community. His leadership was marked by an unwavering commitment to spreading the Gospel and serving people—meeting both their spiritual and natural needs. Through his efforts, the church expanded its reach, touching lives through street ministry, revival meetings, and humanitarian work.

In 2018, at 33 years old, as the ministry in Mississippi continued to flourish, it became evident that Overseer Jones had been positioned for something greater. His faithfulness, integrity, and ability to lead with wisdom and compassion led to his elevation to the office of Overseer. Under his leadership, Provision of Promise, Jackson, transformed into a thriving, Spirit-filled church committed to salvation, deliverance, restoration, and healing.

Overseer Kevin K. G. Jones, Sr. remains a devoted servant of God, leading with vision, strength, and an unshakable faith in God's promises. The lessons he learned as a child watching Gospel Blessing Center operate in outreach, the discipline he gained under Bishop Henry’s mentorship, and the experiences of working in evangelism and community service shaped him into the leader he is today. His passion for seeing lives changed continues to fuel his ministry as he carries out the mission of Provision of Promise—to be a place where people are healed, restored, and empowered by the Word of God.
